Never Switching To Decaf

Ramblings about life, family, cooking and photography.

I’m in love with my camera May 5, 2008

Riley and I visited Miss Tracy’s house today so that Riley could play with Sydney & Spencer and Tracy and I could visit for a bit.  In the 45 minutes we were there, I took 215 pictures.  I think I have a problem.  My 2 GB card is not going to cut it much longer.  After deleting the bad, blurry and unusable photos I was left with 147.  I’ll post a few of my favorites here.

Tracy, thanks for putting up with me in crazy camera lady mode.

Can you stand the cuteness?

When did this happen? May 3, 2008

Matt and the kids have a Friday night tradition. They have Friday Family Fun Night Camp out. They eat junky food, watch a movie or two and fall asleep downstairs. This gives me Friday nights completely free. I can go out and do something or just head upstairs to be my myself.

Last night, my friend Tracy and I made plans to go out. Two Trac(e)y’s about town. We started things off by going to Moe’s. For a chain selling basically fast food, it is pretty darn good. After dinner we tried to figure out what was next. We ruled out shopping. We wanted to do something fun!

We drove down the main road that connects my town with the suburb to the north. We were sure that we would find what we were looking for. We discussed bowling. Then we both realized there would be teenagers there. We didn’t want to be around teenagers. A bar with fancy drinks might be fun. No, nothing like that exists on the road through suburban hell that we were on. The casino? No, we weren’t actually willing to lose any money. So, where do two mid-30’s women looking for a little adventure at 9 o’clock on a Friday night end up?

Why Super Walmart of course! On the plus side I did end up finding a camera bag.

I need a cup of coffee May 2, 2008

I am very tired this morning. I need to get some coffee and get moving, instead I blog. I have a lot of things that I hope to accomplish today.

  • Find a bag for my camera. I’m having a hard time finding something I like for a decent price that will safely hold my camera with the lens attached.
  • Get through the mountains of laundry that accumulate in this house. If Riley takes it out of her drawers, whether she actually wears it or not, it ends up in the dirty clothes pile(s).
  • Make some cards. I am way behind on making cards and I really hope to catch up tonight.
  • Take some pictures. Practice and experimentation are two things that are going to really help me improve my photography skills.
  • Read. I need to make time to read.

I got permission from Michelle to post some of the hiking pictures of her and the boys. I am really happy with how some of them turned out. It helps to have such cute subjects!

I hope everyone has a wonderful Friday and that you accomplish your goals for the day too.

It Smells Like Meatloaf April 30, 2008

Note: I had to edit the title to credit the proper shaped-meat food product.

This was the reaction of my friend Michelle’s five year son today while we were out on a hike. My new personal favorite response to the outdoors ever.

This is one of the many hills today that we scaled while I clung nervously to my camera.

Just a few more shots from the day.
