I have neglected my blog for over a week now and need to get back into the swing of things. We had a very busy 4th of July weekend with a neighborhood block party and a day up in Racine, WI at the beach and zoo. I took as many pictures as my memory card would allow and need to get some posted here in the next few days.
Summer is kicking my butt. The kids and I are constantly trying to find things to do to keep us busy. I’m trying to find a decent bike rack so that we can start biking in places other than our neighborhood. We have fun biking together, but Riley usually tires out pretty quickly. 16 inch bikes were not made for the long haul. We’ve spent a lot of time swimming at the Y. Carson is able to swim the whole length of the Olympic sized pool now without stopping. That was a big deal for him and he was so proud of himself when he passed the swim test. Both kids are starting to swim like little fish and hate when it’s time to get out of the pool. Time to get out is when the day camp kids get there. It goes from 4 or 5 families in the pool to 100+ kids with their counselors. Needless to say, it gets a bit crazy.
This weekend we are heading out on a mini-vacation with Matt’s parents. We’re driving up to the Twin Cities to hit the Mall of America and other touristy destinations. The kids are very excited about the theme park in the middle of the Mall, they think it is the coolest thing ever.
More to come, I need to get the recipe posted for my mom’s not-very-authentic chicken enchiladas posted soon as requested by Lisa.
